Comfortable living

The Cycladic Islands have been inhabited since early history. You pull a stone and you find layers of human lives.
You walk a path and you realize that this same path has been used for thousands of years.
The views that you enjoy, which include natural and man-made structures, has been observed and appreciated millions of times, through the ages.
What do you do when someone asks you to insert a new landmark in this environment, if not for ever, for a significant length of time?
For me the first answer is easy, and it’s another question: What would be its relation to the local area?
Then I have to assess the needs and the life-style of the future occupants of the building.
What is going to make-out of this building a home? What is expected for a comfortable living in our days?
My aspiration is to integrate all those factors and to eventually succeed in designing a structure which is good looking, belongs to its environment and will make a place for good living to its occupants.
