A unique property with a panoramic view from one side to the sea and the nearby island of Naxos and from the other to the part of the rural mainland of Paros.
The goal was to build a elegant modern home for a Swiss couple. We used for that the element of the marble frames (used in Venetian noble houses in the past) to all windows and doors of the house, as well as a Pronaos – Narthex for the main entrance of the villa inside the courtyard. In all floors we used large marble slabs 1.20 x 1.20 with antic finish.
The thick beams 25 x 25 cm thick 9.00 m long in cases in all rooms, came from Northern Greece and they are the same that are used for the gabled roofs in this area.
The surrounding the house area, we planted a small olive grove for the olive oil of the family and a small vineyard for their wine. For this reason, we restored the old ‘patitiri’ the place that was used as a wine press in the past. For the planting in the 10.000 m2 of the property we kept the natural vegetation where that was possible and in the rest of the areas we introduced Mediterranean and native plants that are both more tolerant to the extreme weather conditions of the island but also need less watering.
One can stroll around the property using the unique marble and stone curbs footpath to admire the views to the landscape, the rich garden and the villa itself.
